I believe in the notion that NOTHING is 100%. Mistakes happen. Acer, Dell, Compaq and pretty much EVERY company AND industry have their own problems. From hotels to car manufacturers, premium and non-premium - mistakes happen.
One should not get angry as to WHY it happened but rather focus on WHAT is being done about it i.e. replacement, credit note, partial refund etc. Mistakes happen and organisations should be willing to resolve the issues promptly and effectively.
p.s. my Core i5 iMac works flawlessly :D
